Janet L. Kreger
Resident in 1971-1972
American History and Historic Preservation
Favorite Martha Memory: My roommate and I had the house duty of bringing Sunday morning breakfast carts up from the kitchen to the kitchenettes. We loved getting up when the building was so quiet, and enjoying our own "breakfast in bed" while we de-briefed from the week. She and I are still best friends.
Career: I worked for 34 years in the field of historic preservation and then university advancement. I retired in 2011 and, since then, have worked as a full-time volunteer for a non-profit preservation organization I helped found in 1981.
Favorite Part of Being a Governor This is the MCB&G's second century. I'm very enthusiastic about assuring the preservation of the building for its next 100 years, and making certain there is significant growth of the endowment for the care of the entire property in perpetuity.
Ask Me About: The architectural significance of the Martha Cook Building & Grounds, the practice of historic preservation, and fundraising
